Tholpavakoothu is a traditional shadow puppet play of Kerala based on Kambaramayana a famous epic poem written by Kambar.All of the historians who searched the history of this art said that Kuthanur a small village near Kuzhalmannam is the birth place of this art form.THEoldest group of this art Kuthanur sangam...then other groups were formed in Mathur,Palappuram,and nadumannam.
